The personal information that you supply to the Glasgow South Group of Advanced Motorists and Motorcyclists (“the group”) will only be accessed by authorised persons of the group, and used by us for the purposes described below.  The group’s use of this information is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Other than when required by law, your information will not be shared with any other organisation without your consent.

Membership contract

When you join the group, you will be provided with a copy of the Membership Contract that describes how we use the personal data you provide us with in order to operate the group, and gives you the opportunity to opt out of certain forms of data processing.

Website account registration

The personal information that you supply to the group when you register for an account on this website will be entered into a filing system and will be used for the following purposes:

  1. providing you with access to the restricted members’ area of the website;
  2. communicating with you in relation to such access, e.g. sending you account password reset notifications.

By completing the registration form and supplying this information, you consent to the group storing your information for these purposes, along with any additional information that you provide in your user profile. This information will be retained for as long as you have an account on the website. You can view, edit or delete this personal information at any time, and can have your account removed by contacting the group secretary.

Contact forms

The personal information that you supply to the group when you complete a contact form on this website will be entered into a filing system and transmitted electronically to authorised persons of the group, and if necessary to our parent charity, IAM RoadSmart. The information will be retained by the group and will be used for the purpose of:

  1. responding to your query.

By completing a contact form and supplying this information, you consent to the group storing your information for this purpose.  The information will be retained while we respond to your query.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.
